The M91/38 Carcano is an Italian bolt-action rifle developed in the early 20th century. Chambered in 6.5x52mm, the Carcano was used by Italian forces during both world wars. The M91/38 variant was an update to the original M91 Carcano, with a shorter barrel designed for easier handling.

Although the Carcano rifle is often criticized for its mediocre accuracy and stopping power, it was the standard rifle for Italian troops during World War II. Its relatively lightweight design made it suitable for use in the mountainous terrain of North Africa and the Balkans.

The M91/38 Carcano gained notoriety after World War II, particularly due to its use in the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy in 1963. Despite its historical infamy, the Carcano remains an important part of Italian military history and is still collected by firearms enthusiasts.
