The 25 cm schwerer Minenwerfer was a heavy trench mortar developed by Germany during the early 20th century, primarily for use in World War I. Designed by Rheinmetall, it was intended to provide German forces with a powerful yet relatively mobile siege weapon capable of destroying enemy fortifications, trenches, and barbed wire defenses. The weapon fired large 250mm high-explosive shells in a high-angle trajectory, allowing it to bypass obstacles and strike deep within enemy positions.
